          Kids Balancing Toys

Balance is a key element of gross motor skill because it allows the control of movements during stationary (static) as well as moving (dynamic) tasks like laying, sitting, crawling, walking, or running.

Ears play a large role in balance due to the vestibular system which arises in the inner ear and is responsible for processing movement, changes in head positions and the direction and speed of movement. The vestibulocochlear nerve sends signals to the brain that control hearing and ultimately helps with balance. The ears receive assistance from the eyes, joints, and muscles, helping to keep bodies balanced and upright.

Balance is something that needs to be learned through experimenting with body movements. There are many toys and play products that can motivate and encourage children to improve their balance. These toys and play products can help teach balance while sitting, standing or even moving.

Learning to balance at a young age allows children to develop physical control of their bodies which spurs confidence to engage in physical activities. Studies have shown links between development of balance and academic performance in children. Those who use balancing toys from an early age display evidence of increased cognitive function.

The tactile path which can be built in a myriad of different ways comprises 8 straight, 8 curved and 4 square blocks so paths can be directed in four different directions.  Each piece is easily joined together and has raised dots providing a sensory experience for the children when they walk on it.   The set comprises 20 pieces and is a perfect balancing toy for groups of children looking to encourage and support each other.

The set of two balance arches can either be used separately as a rocking balancing arch, or together to form a climbing bridge or half circle balancing beam!  Perfect for helping develop balance, coordination, movement and confidence in young children.

The balance roller is a safe to use balancing product, as the compression of its rubber tyres naturally reduces the speed while making play virtually silent and protecting the ground surface from damage. This is combined with a rubber tread which provides a safe grip and offers additional tactile stimulation when rolling with bare feet. This Balance Roller contains 2.5kg of sand which helps to reduce speed whilst balancing and rolling - perfect for smaller children wanting to master balancing.

Balance toys for children come in a myriad of different styles, shapes and colours and can be used independently or by a group of children working together.

This wide range of balancing toys are a great way to start improving balance, coordination and motor skills from an early age as well as being great fun both inside and outside the classroom or nursery setting.
